
The Roncalli Jets look to improve to 3 and 0 to start the season today as they welcome the Sevastopol Pioneers for a non-conference game.
The Jets have a pair of wins over Sheboygan Falls to begin their season, while the Pioneers have had a tough time getting their season started with games against Manitowoc Lutheran (postponed) and Green Bay Southwest (cancelled) to begin their season.
Today’s game was scheduled to be played in Sevastopol but has been moved to Roncalli.
The first pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc Lincoln hits the road for an FRCC doubleheader at Sheboygan North against the Golden Raiders.
The Ships are coming off their first victory of the year Tuesday at Notre Dame (Green Bay), while the Golden Raiders are 2 and 2, having defeated Sheboygan South and Oshkosh West, but they’ve dropped two straight to Green Bay Preble and Plymouth to fall back to .500.
The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Manitowoc Lutheran continues play in The Mauston Invitational as they battle The Gilman Pirates with first pitch scheduled for 9 a.m.
Mishicot takes on Loyal in Adams Friendship, Denmark is also in Mauston, and will face Marquette of Milwaukee, and Kiel heads up to Southern Door.
Other FRCC doubleheaders include De Pere at Bay Port, West De Pere venturing to Pulaski, and Green Bay Southwest entertains Notre Dame.
Algoma will host Gibraltar/ Washington Island for a pair of games, Ozaukee battles Waupaca and St. Mary Catholic at St. Mary Catholic, Hilbert meets Florence at Gillett, and Cedar Grove-Belgium entertains Port Washington.
Elsewhere, the Manitowoc Lincoln girls’ soccer team is at a tournament at UW-Whitewater today for a pair of matches against Badger and Waukesha West.
The Ships have won a pair of matches this week (Oshkosh North and Plymouth) by a combined score of 5 to 1, where head coach Ethan Jones has heaped praise on his defense for solid play all week long.
Their first match against Badger begins at 11 a.m., while their match with the Lady Wolverines is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
Other soccer matches scheduled for today include Kewaunee hosting Sevastopol/ Gibraltar, while De Pere and Notre Dame (Green Bay) continue play in the Evergreen Invitational at D.C. Everest High School in Schofield.
De Pere battles Marshfield while Notre Dame battles the hot Evergreens.
