
The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers’ Track and Field Team competed hard in a 5-team Big East meet on Thursday, hosted by Mishicot High School.
The boys’ team finished in 1st place with a team score of 211, ahead of Mishicot’s 120, putting them in 2nd place.
All four Lancer relays took first place, with two first places also won by Senior Trenton Schuettpelz in the 110-meter hurdles and the triple jump.
Senior Isaiah Muchka also got first in the 400 meters, while sophomore Elliott Franzen took 1st in the 800 meters and sophomore Max Ciha in the 1600 meters.
Lastly, JJ Sweeny took first in the 3200-meter run.
The Lancers took three more first places in the field events, with wins by senior Tristan Hulse in the shot put, senior Austin Euclide in the discus, and sophomore Roman DiMarco in the long jump.
The Lancer girls’ team finished 4th at the Mishicot meet but took 1st in the 4X800-meter relay, consisting of junior Carmen Carolfi and sophomores Isabella Eick, Hope Muchka, and Maddie Wusterbarth.
In addition, the Lancer girls garnered five second-place and two third-place finishes.
