It’s time to grab your capes and masks for Manitowoc Public Library’s Comic Book Day Costume Contest! This is your opportunity to cosplay at the Library and potentially win an amazing prize!
Comic Book Day is a celebration of everything that comes from Comic Books, Comic Strips, and Manga—things like art, character, and story. On Saturday, May 2, from 9 AM-1 PM, you can participate in fun activities like our Costume Contest! Let comics and manga inspire you as you create your costume. Dress up as your favorite comic book persona or create your own original character!
We’ll take your picture in your incredible costume and post it to our Facebook page. Whoever receives the most likes during the following week will win an LED Mask! This rechargeable mask has multiple static and dynamic display images. Everyone can enter the contest either with friends or individually. However, before you make your decision about going it alone or being part of a team, it’s important for you to know that only one LED Mask will be awarded.
The costume contest is free and open to all ages. No registration is required. Just stop by any time from 9 AM-1 PM on Saturday, May 2, to participate.
We’re a few weeks out, so now is a good time start crafting your vision of what you want your costume to be. Use accessories, makeup, store-bought or custom made clothing.
Don’t have a costume? Free superhero mask making cutouts will be available for kids in the Youth Services Department on both Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. That way, kids can color their mask and enter the contest!
