For the second time, a bond modification has been denied for a Two Rivers man facing child sexual assault charges.
Court records show that 27-year-old Andrew Mueller was back in court this week for a bail hearing, requesting for the second time in less than a month to have his cash bail lowered.
As of this morning, Mueller remains in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail on a $5,000 cash bail while he and his legal counsel made a motion for that number to be lowered to $1,000 or less.
However, the court believes that his bail has been appropriately set, and thus, has again denied the 27-year-old’s motion to have it lowered.
Mueller has been charged with two felony counts of Second-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child linked to two incidents that occurred in November and December of last year.
Court documents also reveal that, at the time of both of these incidents, the victim was just months removed from turning 13 years old.
Following his second denied bail motion, Mueller is due back in court today (April 10th) in Branch 3 for further proceedings.
