
It will be a busy day for local soccer and track teams.
The Manitowoc Lincoln girls’ soccer team returns home tonight for a non-conference match against a very good Plymouth Panthers team at Rubick Field.
The Ships picked up their first win of the young season Tuesday at Oshkosh North by a score of 3-0.
Defense has been solid for Head Coach Ethan Jones early on, allowing just two goals in their first two matches of the season, both coming in a tough season-opening loss to Cedar Grove/Belgium.
The Panthers are also 1-1 to start 2026 and are coming off an 8-0 loss to Appleton East on Tuesday.
Match time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Elsewhere in girls’ soccer, Kiel, off to a 2-0 start, hosts the Wrightstown Tigers.
The Raiders have outscored their first two opponents (Ozaukee and Winnebago Lutheran Academy) by a combined score of 9-1.
Also on the docket, Sheboygan Falls heads to Port Washington, Sheboygan North hosts Fond Du Lac, Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian heads north to Sturgeon Bay, Freedom visits Kohler, Oostburg entertains St. Mary’s Springs of Fond Du Lac, and Elkhart Lale/Glenbeulah travels to Campbellsport.
Elsewhere, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay hosts Waupaca, Green Bay Preble is at Appleton West, Green Bay West is at Winneconne, Appleton East entertains West De Pere, Pulaski heads down to Cedarburg, and St. Mary Catholic travels to Omro to battle the Lady Foxes.
Also, the Mishicot Indians are scheduled to host Reedsville, Hibert, and St. Mary Catholic in a Big East outdoor quadrangular meet this afternoon, weather permitting.
The competition is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
