One person has been arrested following a fatal traffic crash in Oconto County.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the area of Old 41 Road near Vermeiren Road in the Town of Pensaukee just before 3:30 Sunday morning on a report of a truck vs UTV accident.
The driver of the UTV, a 48-year-old Little Suamico man, was found lying on the ground, and life-saving measures were immediately taken.
The unidentified man was taken to Bellin Oconto Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the truck was traveling south on Old 41 Road when it collided with the UTV, which was also traveling south.
The 24-year-old driver of that truck was later arrested.
While the charges were not specifically stated by Oconto County Sheriff Todd Skarban, it was noted that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation with help from the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
