The Plymouth Dirt Track is remembering a racing legend from the 80s and 90s.
On their Instagram page, they extended their deepest condolences to Dean Horneck, who took up stock car racing at the age of 50.
During his time, he raced on local tracks in Plymouth, Chilton, and even in Manitowoc.
His obituary explains that Dean made many friends during his 10 years of racing, including a feature win.
The Plymouth Dirt Track also noted that Horneck competed in the PDTR Grand National division with one A-main victory among his seven wins at the track.
Seehafer Broadcasting’s Traffic Manager, Jenny Kaneski, also says she remembers watching him race during the 80s and 90s.
Horneck worked at Walsforf Roofing for several years and at the Kohler Company in the building maintenance department.
His funeral service was held on Thursday (April 2nd).
He is buried at the Kiel Belitz Cemetery.
