The Two Rivers Police Department is looking to help seniors in the community return their unused prescriptions.
National Drug Take Back Day is Friday, April 25th, and there are several drop-off locations around the area.
The day before, the Two Rivers Police Department will have a drop-off bin at the Senior Center, located at 1520 17th Street, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
They will accept unused prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, pills, tablets, capsules, and liquid medications.
Another location will be announced in the near future for the following day.
Manitowoc residents are invited to drop of their medications at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital, located at 2300 Western Avenue between 9:00 a.m. and noon on April 25th.
National Drug Take Back Day was first founded in 2016 by the DEA as a way to dispose of prescription medication in a safe and healthy way.
Back in October, over 280 tons of medications were collected across over 4,300 sites, bringing the all-time total to over 10,100 tons.
