Wisconsin Public Services has filed a rate request with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
WPS is seeking more than $132 million in savings from federal tax credits, which they say would be shared with the customers.
WPS President Mike Hooper said of the filing, “Our customers count on us every day for the energy they need, and we recognize our responsibility to continue providing safe and reliable energy. This filing shows our continued commitment to keep costs down as we invest in reliability for all of our customers.”
That being said, the typical WPS electric bill will increase by about $11 per month in 2027 and by $5 per month in 2028.
Even with these changes, typical WPS customer bills remain below the national average and in line with other Wisconsin and Midwest utilities.
