A man has been convicted of stealing a tablet from a Manitowoc business and drug possession.
Court records show that 38-year-old Joshua Church pleaded no contest to one count of burglary to a building or dwelling during a hearing on Monday (March 30th).
In a separate case, he was also found guilty due to a no-contest plea for possession of methamphetamine.
Other charges of theft of movable property, possession of burglarious tools, and illegal possession of drugs without a prescription were dismissed but read into the record.
Manitowoc County Judge Robert Dewane sentenced Church to spend 1.5 years in prison and another 1.5 years on extended supervision as part of his plea deal.
He also has to maintain full-time employment, schooling, or a combination of the two, maintain absolute sobriety, and provide a DNA sample.
Church was arrested about a year ago after Manitowoc Police were called to Manitowoc Tool and Manufacturing, and were shown a video of the 38-year-old entering the facility through an unlocked service door.
He then entered an office, emerged a short time later, and left.
An employee reported that a tablet was missing a few hours later.
