
The Mishicot girls’ softball team dropped a 4 to 2 decision to the Marysville Monarchs of Ohio in their fourth and final game of a season-opening invitational played in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Wednesday morning.
The Monarchs jumped out to a 2 to 1 lead in the first inning and added two more runs in the top of the sixth inning.
The Indians scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to close to within two runs, but could get no closer.
Marysville senior Josie Bumgarner threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs on four base hits, walking none, and striking out 6.
Sophomore Nevaeh Malchek took the loss in the circle for Mishicot, allowing four runs, two earned on five hits, walking only one batter, and striking out three.
The Indians resume play next Thursday (April 9th) when they host the Sevastopol Pioneers in their home opener. The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 4:30 p.m.
