
The 2026 Spring General Election is now only a week away.
This election will be for local and area city council seats, school and library boards, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
In the City of Manitowoc, there are two contested races in Aldermanic Districts 5 and 6. In District 5, incumbent William Debates is seeking a second term on the Common Council, running against Mason J. Benzinger.
In District 6, challenger Benjamin Hilburger is looking to take the seat from incumbent Eric Sikitewitz.
In Two Rivers, five candidates are running for three seats on the city council. Incumbents Darla LeClair, Bonnie Shimulunas, and Adam Wachowski are looking to retain their seats as they face challengers Katherine Dahlke and Shawntel Hoffman.
For the Manitowoc County Board, there are two contested races in Board Supervisor Districts 5 and 20. In District 20, Lee Engelbrecht is looking to keep his seat as he faces Andrew Schwerma.
District 5 will have a new representative as William Debates is running against Jill Ann Pope.
That is the former seat of Tyler Martell, who is running for County Executive unopposed.
There is also a contested race for the Multi-Jurisdictional Municipal Judge for the City of Two Rivers and the Village of Mishicot.
Emily Walker is looking to keep her position as she is challenged by Mark Heller.
The other major race is at the state level, where Judge Chris Taylor will run against Court of Appeals Judge Maria Lazar.
Other races not mentioned either do not have a candidate running or have no challengers to the incumbents.
