There are two meetings in Manitowoc County today (March 30th).
First, the Planning and Park Commission Advisory Board will meet at 3:30 p.m., followed by the full Planning and Park Commission at 4:00 p.m., at the County Office Complex on Expo Drive in Manitowoc.
The commission will have five public hearings for rezoning in the Towns of Cato, Rockland, Manitowoc Rapids, and Maple Grove.
Then the group will discuss a petition for an ordinance amending Manitowoc County’s code to enact a moratorium on the receipt of applications and on the granting of all permits or approvals for the placement or construction of data centers.
This comes after the Towns of Mishicot, Two Rivers, and Two Creeks requested the moratorium following a group’s outreach to residents about selling their land for a data center near Mishicot.
The commission will then review a variance and a development plan before adjourning for the evening.
