An ongoing road construction project is continuing to affect motorists in Sheboygan County.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that even more lane closures will be coming to Interstate 43 this week as part of its major rehabilitation work.
A single-lane closure went into effect today (March 30th) at 5:00 a.m. in the north and southbound lanes of I-43 between Wilson/Lima Road and Stahl Road, the southernmost point of the project.
These particular lane closures are expected to remain in place until 3:00 p.m. Thursday (April 2nd) in the northbound lane and until 6:00 p.m. Friday (April 3rd) in the southbound lane.
The new closures are in addition to the long-term single lane closures that were put in place last week between State Highway 28 and State Highway 42, which are scheduled to last until July 1st.
This months-long construction will span approximately 10 miles on I-43 from Wilson/Lime Road in the Town of Wilson to Highway 42 in the Town of Sheboygan and passes through the Village of Kohler and the City of Sheboygan.
