An outgoing Manitowoc County board member is thanking his constituents for supporting him in the last twelve years.
Retiring 19th District Supervisor James Falkowski called his time on the county board an honor and has been grateful for the opportunity to work alongside “dedicated colleagues that shared the responsibility of guiding Manitowoc County government.”
Falkowski continues to say that effective local government depends on thoughtful judgment, careful deliberation, and a willingness to consider differing perspectives.
He then explained how the work of committees, commissions, and boards is essential, and informed participation remains vital to serving the public well.
Falkowski had to drive to 264 meetings as a supervisor and then 364 evening meetings for towns and villages.
He concludes by reiterating his confidence in the importance of local governance and his gratitude for the trust the residents of District 19 have placed in him.
Falkowski received a proclamation from the county during his last county board meeting this month.
It explains his work on the ADRC of the Lakeshore Board, Joint Dispatch Board, Parks Commission, and more.
Shae Sortwell is running unopposed for the district seat in the upcoming 2026 Spring General Election.
