A competency hearing is on the calendar for a man accused in a deadly Fitchburg hit-and-run.
Andrew Smith appeared in court on Wednesday on charges of intentional homicide and other counts for the collision early Monday morning.
Police say the 40-year-old from Beloit intentionally drove onto a bike path and struck the victim, which he allegedly admitted to, adding he had the intent to kill.
Smith later drove to the Fitchburg Police Department and crashed into a pair of squad cars.
His competency hearing is scheduled for April 20th.
