Lakeland University is remembering a recently passed member of their team.
The university has announced that longtime adjunct music faculty member Dan Ognavic passed away on March 16th.
With Lakeland, Ognavic taught lessons for violin, double bass, and cello.
Additionally, he was a well-accomplished pianist and would often accompany his students in recital.
Outside of his work at the university, he ran a professional studio, furthering his work to educate area children in music across various ages and instruments.
Aside from his personal performances throughout the area, Ognavic was also a long-time member of both the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra and the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra.
The college also noted, “He was known for his kindness and witty sense of humor. His artistry and compassion touched the lives of his colleagues and countless young musicians.”
