
Wrestlers at Mishicot High School are being honored by the Big East Conference.
The postseason awards have been announced, and two wrestlers at Mishicot have been named Wrestlers of the Year.
Owen Schacht shared the honor among the boys with Liam Richards of Oostburg, while Debra Kuss stood alone for the honor among the Girls.
Kuss also earned the Outstanding Wrestler Award for her performance at the conference tournament, and her coach, Max Loberger was named Coach of the Year.
Kuss, along with Olivia Kazrowski and Michaelynn Wotacheck, all earned 1st Team All-Conference honors, as did Reedsville’s Monica Behnke and Mikaela Spindler.
The only female Manitowoc County wrestler to earn 2nd Team Honors was Manitowoc Lutheran’s Lauren Rounds.
As for the boys, Schacht and Parker Tulachka were both named 1st Team honorees for Mishicot, while teammates Jack Kaczrowski, Rathan Shimek, and Landen Pekarek all earned 2nd Team honors.
They were joined by Reedsville’s Ethyn Sebo, Wyatt Voeltz, and Tristen Verbeten, while fellow Panthers Bryce Verhaagh, Adison Scharenbroch, and Nolan Wilson were all honorable mentions.
Also earning honorable mention status were Mishicot’s Gauge Schaus and Manitowoc Lutheran grapplers Connor Sehloff and Collin Rounds.
