Conservationists are monitoring the phosphorus levels at Green Lake.
Officials with the Green Lake Association say meltwater from the recent blizzard could carry high concentrations of phosphorus into the lake from farm fields.
This can lead to algae blooms, making the water unsafe for people.
Results from the current samples are expected to come back in a couple of weeks.
