A former state representative is looking to become District 9’s next state senator.
Representative Amy Binsfeld announced last week that she is seeking election to the Wisconsin State Senate after Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu announced he will not seek reelection.
Rep. Binsfeld’s campaign announcement explains that she built a reputation as a principled conservative focused on delivering results for families, small businesses, and rural communities.
During her time in the legislature, she worked to advance policies that strengthened Wisconsin’s economy, supported local growth, and reduced regulations on small businesses.
The Sheboygan Republican says that she’s running for state senate because, “our communities deserve strong, reliable leadership that listens and delivers. I will fight to protect our conservative values, support our local economy, and ensure our district continues to thrive for generations to come.”
Rep. Binsfeld also said LeMahieu has been a dedicated public servant and strong voice for the district, and she thanked him for his “years of service and leadership” and wishes “him and his family the very best in retirement.”
