A Green Bay organization is getting some state money for a housing development in Door County.
NeighborWorks Green Bay is one of three entities slated to receive funding through the Emerging Rural Developer Fellowship.
The program is designed to expand the pipeline of developers working in rural Wisconsin while helping communities overcome barriers that often stall housing projects.
Fellows will work as independent contractors embedded with NeighborWorks Green Bay, as well as Bayfield County and Prosperity Southwest, based out of Platteville, where they will gain professional experience while supporting housing development activities such as project planning, financing strategies, and partnerships with local stakeholders.
NeighborWorks Green Bay President and CEO Noel Halvorsen voiced her excitement, saying, “Fellows will gain real-world experience navigating the unique challenges of rural housing markets while helping communities advance projects that are urgently needed.”
