Those looking to help report severe weather in Sheboygan County will have the opportunity to be trained next month.
Sheboygan County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service (NWS) will be hosting a free storm spotter training event on April 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
When describing what attendees can expect during the session, the NWS said, “We will cover safety aspects for spotters and the general public, along with the essentials of what you need to know to report severe weather to the NWS.”
Participants will also learn how to be severe weather aware, the difference between severe weather watches and warnings, and just what it takes to be a trained weather spotter for the NWS.
This training opportunity is open to the public and will be free of charge and no pre-registration is required.
The storm spotter training will be held at the Sheboygan County Transportation Complex, located at W5741 County Highway J in Plymouth.
