Two Rivers Utilities (TRU) is reminding residents of an upcoming deadline.
TRU has let the public know that the statewide utility disconnection moratorium will come to an end on April 15th.
Each year, the moratorium in Wisconsin is active from November 1st through April 15th, meaning that utilities are prohibited from being disconnected due to nonpayment when the utility is used for home heating.
After the moratorium closes, those behind on payments may be subject to having their utilities disconnected.
TRU urges any residents with outstanding balances on their utility accounts to contact them in order to set up a payment plan or explore assistance options.
Utility bill concerns in Two Rivers can be handled by calling TRU Customer Service at 920-793-5523.
While this reminder was put out in Two Rivers, the message applies to all residents across Wisconsin.
If you currently have an outstanding utility bill, you are urged to contact your provider to get up to date on payments to prevent a disconnection.
