The City of Manitowoc is getting ready to begin its annual street sweeping operations.
Beginning on Monday, March 23rd, warning tickets will be issued to vehicles parked on the street on the day that the street would be swept.
The full operations begin on Monday, April 6th.
It is important to note that even though the sweeper may have gone by once, it may need to go by for a second pass.
So if possible, residents are asked to avoid parking on streets in the area being swept during the morning hours of their respective street sweeping day.
The City noted, “Many of the storm sewers lead directly to Lake Michigan, the Manitowoc River, Little Manitowoc River, and Silver Creek. It is important to remember that anything that is put into the street is ultimately going to end up in the lake or river.”
