A Manitowoc man already facing 18 child porn-related charges in circuit court is now being charged federally.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin has announced that 20-year-old Brandon M. Lemerond has been indicted on charges of Production of Child Pornography, two counts of Obscene Visual Depictions of the Sexual Abuse of Children, and three counts of Felony Sex Offense by an Individual Required to Register as a Sexual Offender.
These new charges stem from violations that occurred in July of last year, and could land him in prison for over 100 years.
Lemerond is also facing eight counts of Child Exploitation and ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography in Manitowoc County.
He was initially arrested after the Manitowoc Police Department received a tip about a Snapchat account linked to the distribution of child sexual abuse material.
He was also previously given a plea deal and convicted on two counts of possession of child pornography, for which he was sentenced to four years’ probation.
Lemerond is next due in Manitowoc County Court on March 26th for a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Mark Rohrer.
