Wisconsin Public Service and WE Energies say a true first sign of spring is starting to show up again.
Peregrine falcons have returned to their nest boxes, part of a program started by the power company in 1992 to help the birds continue to flourish.
There are currently six falcons residing at each power plant in Weston, Oak Creek, Port Washington, and Milwaukee.
The energy companies say the first eggs could be laid in the next couple of weeks.
If all goes well, the first chicks will be arriving later this spring. Since the falcon nest boxes were installed at the power plants in the early 1990s, 465 peregrine falcons have hatched at company facilities, representing 20% of all peregrine falcons born in Wisconsin.
The nest box cams can be found on YouTube.com.
