Plans have nearly received full approval for a major public safety project in Sheboygan.
On Tuesday (March 10th), the schematic plans for the City’s proposed Public Safety Complex were unanimously approved by Sheboygan’s Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee.
The schematics include design plans for Fire Station 2, 3, and the new Public Safety Complex itself.
The complex will include an addition to the police station, apparatus support bays, a five-story fire training building, and a dirty classroom and firing range.
Now that the schematics have been created, the next order of business for the Wendel Company, the group tasked with creating the plans, will be to enter the design development stage, where they will work out specifics pertaining to systems, features, and materials used for the complex.
However, the design development stage cannot move forward until the schematics are fully approved by the Sheboygan Common Council in the future.
The Wendel Company was selected for the planning process due to its extensive history and success in designing fire stations, police stations, and emergency medical stations.
