
The WIAA boys’ basketball tournament resumes tonight with Sectional Semifinals being played throughout the state.
In Division Four, Roncalli will play Howards Grove at Chilton. Both teams come into tonight with 20 victories this season, with the Jets having won four straight and eight of nine and the Tigers have won eight consecutive games. Coverage on “WOMT 100” and WOMTRadio.com begins at 6:40 p.m.
Also, in Division Four, undefeated and top-ranked Kewaunee plays last year’s state runner-up, Bonduel, at Kaukauna. These two teams met on February 2nd in Kewaunee, with the Storm prevailing 81-77.
In Division Five, Reedsville, the Big East North Division champs, take 24 and 3 into tonight’s battle with Big East North Division rival Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah at Menasha. Since back-to-back losses to Howards Grove and Oostburg in mid-February, the Panthers have won six straight games. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah comes into the game with a record of 18-9, having won five in a row, with Reedsville winning both regular-season meetings with the Resorters.
In Division Three, Brillion takes a 15-game winning streak and a 23 and 3 record into their game with meets Xavier (Appleton) at Oshkosh North. The Lions have dominated opponents lately, winning by more than 20 points per game by being patient on offense and playing a stifling man-to-man defense that commits just over 10 fouls per game. The Hawks, from the Bay Conference, have won 5 straight and 8 of 9 coming into tonight.
In Division Two, Notre Dame (Green Bay) meets FRCC foe West De Pere at JFK Fieldhouse in Manitowoc, and in Division One, De Pere meets Germantown at Sheboygan North, Neenah and Kaukauna play at Kimberly, Appleton North meets Marshfield at Stevens Point, and Oshkosh North hooks up with Brookfield East at Hartford Union.
All games are scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
