
Calls for service are slightly down in January but up in February for the Manitowoc Police Department.
In January this year, there were 2,135 calls for service compared to 2,158 last year.
However, officers had to write more reports in January this year than in 2025.
Adult criminal charges were also down from 107 in January 2025 compared to 96 in January 2026.
Juvenile charges were also down in January this year, from five to three.
Traffic citations were up in January 2026 compared to January 2025, with 252 this year and 236 last year, respectively.
It’s a bit of a different story for February, as there were 1,891 calls for service in February this year compared to 1,870 in February 2025.
However, total calls for service are still down in February 2026, at 4,026, compared to 4,028 at this time last February.
Adult criminal charges were down again last month, with 77 for February 2026 compared to 96 in February 2025. Juvenile charges more than doubled in February 2026 compared to last year.
There were 19 juveniles charged last month compared to just six in February 2025. Accidents are up for both months as well.
In January 2026, there were 101 accidents, compared to 86 in 2025, and 93 in February 2026, compared to 86 in February 2025.
