The Sheboygan Film Festival is seeking the help of local artists as they prepare for this year’s event.
The Film Fest has shared that they are looking for artists to help create the event’s official artwork featuring their mascot, Dottie the Pelican, ready to fry up the grill.
Dottie is inspired by one of the first successful female filmmakers in Hollywood, Dorothy Arzner.
This year’s theme for the artwork is Lights! Camera! Brats! and artwork submissions are required to reflect the grilling and brat fry theme.
They are also intended to capture the film-centered, community spirit of the event while featuring the name of the festival as well.
Organizers also added, “For this project, the more Sheboygan, the better!”
Artists working in any medium, including but not limited to painting, digital illustration, mixed media, and printmaking, are welcome to apply.
The artist formally tasked with creating the official festival artwork will receive a $500 stipend, credit in festival materials and on social media, and visibility across posters, merchandise, and other promotions.
Applications will close on April 17th, while an artist selection will be made on May 1st.
