As the conflict in Iran nears its third week, Eastern Wisconsin gas prices have jumped above $3.00 for the first time since September.
According to the AAA Gas Prices website, Manitowoc County’s average price per gallon of regular unleaded fuel rose 27 cents since this time last week to $3.18.
The last time the local gas prices were this high was the second week of April last year.
Sheboygan County reported a 19-cent jump to $3.12, leaving that area with the least expensive fuel in the area this week, while Calumet County saw the least dramatic increase of 13 cents and an average of $3.18 per gallon.
Outagamie County motorists are paying 22 cents more per gallon with an average of $3.21, while Brown and Kewaunee Counties are tied for the biggest changes.
They each reported 37-cent jumps to $3.30 and $3.27, while Door County saw a 26-cent bump to $3.29.
The state average is up 17 cents to $3.20 per gallon, while the national average also rose 37 cents to $3.57.
