Brad Schimel isn’t going to be the permanent U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Federal judges declined to extend Schimel following his interim role as US attorney, which he was appointed to in November.
The interim post only lasts for 120 days, and Schimel’s last day is expected to be next Monday.
The judges who made the decision did not vote on the matter, but simply said they didn’t want to be involved in the process.
Instead, the judges involved said they will await a nomination and confirmation of the next full-time U.S. Attorney.
