
A Reedsville student has been named the Big East Conference North Division’s Player of the Year.
Ben Prochnow, who led his Panthers squad to the Sectional Round of the WIAA Boys Basketball Tournament with a 71-29 dismantling of Gibraltar over the weekend, earned the honor, while also being named 1st team all conference.
He is joined by teammate Arden Strenn, Trace Damrow of Howards Grove, Mason Uhlenbrauck of St. Mary Catholic, and Manitowoc Lutheran player Wesley Hecker.
Fellow Lancer Will Franzen earned second-team honors alongside Mishicot’s Bradley Wendricks, while Reedsville’s Jack Schwahn was an honorable mention.
As for the South Division, Oostburg’s Jamison Zavatchin was named Player of the Year, and was joined as a first-team selection by teammate Cade Dirkse.
Other first team honorees were Owen Gulke of Cedar Grove-Belgium, Carter Zimmerman of Kohler, and Sheboygan Lutheran’s Brennen Hackbarth.
