A white nationalist organization was seen in Manitowoc over the weekend.
The group known as Patriot Front was seen at the corner of N. 8th Street and Maritime Drive near Shipbuilders Park, protesting what appeared to be immigration.
The group of about 10 people was seen wearing their well-known white face masks, waving flags, and holding a sign that said, “Deport Invaders.”
Why Patriot Front was in Manitowoc specifically is not known at this time.
The Southern Poverty Law Center says Patriot Front was formed in the aftermath of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, back in 2017.
A person was killed when a vehicle drove into a crowd of counter-protesters marching through the downtown area.
The group is known to be against what they call “replacement populations,” meaning any non-white resident, immigrant, or refugee.
