A barn and shed are considered a total loss after a fire broke out near Francis Creek.
Francis Creek Fire Chief Nathan Schleis tells Seehafernews.com that firefighters were called to the 7000 block of County Road Q around 11:00 p.m. Wednesday on the reported barn fire.
When fire crews arrived, they found the barn and shed fully engulfed in flames and began an immediate attack.
They did use the MABAS alarm to call in for additional support due to the size of the fire. Schleis estimated that 140,000 gallons of water were used, and about 17 tenders showed up to help.
It took about three or four hours to get the fire under control, and it was not completely out when we spoke with the Francis Creek Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, as the department is conducting an investigation.
The barn and adjoining shed are considered a total loss.
