A Manitowoc man facing a long list of charges in a child pornography case is due in court.
20-year-old Brandon Lemerond will be back inside a Manitowoc County courtroom at 1:30 p.m. today (March 5th) for his preliminary hearing as he has been charged with eight felony counts of Child Sexual Exploitation and 10 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Lemerond’s charges arose when the Manitowoc Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in October.
That tip claimed that a Snapchat account linked to the 20-year-old was used in the distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The IP address used by the account led authorities to Lemerond’s residence on South 29th Street in Manitowoc.
Upon search of his residence, Manitowoc PD found eight files containing child sexual abuse material on Lemerond’s Snapchat account, who later admitted to talking to the minor female victims using the app.
This is also not his first time being charged with child sex crimes, as he was convicted on two counts of Possession of Child Pornography by Person Under Age of 18 in 2023 after accepting a plea deal, which saw him face no time in prison.
At this time, Lemerond remains in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail on a $20,000 cash bail.
