The WIAA is looking for young people to be a part of the 2026-2027 Student Athlete Leadership Team.
Applications are now being accepted for the program, which allows student-athletes to serve as ambassadors for their peers and provide input to the association.
The program is designed to elevate student perspectives, strengthen education-based athletics, and introduce student-athletes to leadership opportunities within school sports and the broader sports industry.
Ginger Gurndt, the team’s current president and a senior at Suring High School, said of the program, “We have the opportunity to represent student-athletes across Wisconsin and make a real difference on issues that matter to us, from mental health awareness to sportsmanship to school spirit. Having our voices heard at the state level is powerful, and I encourage any student-athlete who is passionate about leadership to apply.”
Applications can be found at WIAAWI.org.
