Two Wisconsin legislators have reached across the political aisle to help support the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin and Republican Congressman Tony Wied were at Fire Station 3 in Green Bay Friday, alongside Mayor Eric Genrich and Interim Co-Chief of the Department, Eric Jeltema, to announce some major funding.
The duo has secured $5 million in federal funding to help support the construction of a new, state-of-the-art fire station.
The new fire station will combine operations from Fire Station #1 and Fire Station #3 to address the growing demands of a rapidly expanding population while enhancing emergency response capabilities.
