Wisconsin Public Service is giving some tips to help residents save energy and money this year.
When it comes to heating your home, WPS is reminding homeowners to make sure their furnace’s air filters are changed regularly and suggests using a programmable thermostat.
These simple steps could save you over $180 per year.
You can also save money by changing how you cook your food. Using a microwave, slow cooker, air fryer, or toaster oven can use up to 75% less energy than a conventional oven.
When dinner is over, WPS suggests avoiding handwashing dishes if possible. Dishwashing machines are the more efficient option, as long as they are run when completely full and the no-heat drying option is used.
