The Brown County OWI Task Force was busy last weekend.
The Green Bay Police Department reports that the task force conducted 50 total stops on February 20th and 21st, resulting in five OWI citations along with 48 other citations and 46 warnings.
Among the additional citations and warnings were offenses such as open intoxicants, speeding, seat belt violations, registration violations, and equipment violations.
The department noted, “This multi-jurisdictional, grant-funded effort aims to reduce dangerous driving behaviors and educate drivers on safe driving practices.”
The task force will be deployed again this weekend, cracking down on impaired driving today (February 27th) and tomorrow.
