One student from Mishicot High School will advance to a state competition after placing in the SkillsUSA Wisconsin Regional Competition.
Wyat Schlies got second place in the Power Equipment Technology competition at Fox Valley Technical College during last week’s regionals.
Other students from Oshkosh North, Oshkosh West, Freedom, and Winneconne High Schools also placed in different competitions at the skills event, including in Welding, Prepared Speech, Medical Math, and Related Technical Math.
Those who placed at the regional event, including Wyat, get the opportunity to advance to the 53rd annual Wisconsin SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Madison on April 7th and 8th.
If competitors advance from the state, they will become national qualifiers and attend the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta in June.
Wisconsin SkillsUSA was founded in 1973 and added 14 new chapters in the 2025 school year, bringing the total to 166 high school and middle school secondary chapters in the state.
