The Valders Vikings girls basketball team welcomed in the Roncalli Jets in the opening round of postseason play last night (February 24th).
This playoff matchup between conference foes saw Valders take down the Jets 60-27.
Valders was on it early as they jumped out to a 12-0 lead to open things up, and they would never look back.
Vikings senior Megan Hochkammer’s 17 first-half points would help her side enter the break up 32-9.
Despite Roncalli coming out stronger in the second, Hochkammer was simply too much to handle.
Her game-high 38 points would not only seal the opening round win for Valders but also etched her name into the record books as she became the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Roncalli was led offensively by junior Megan Lamers, who finished with 9.
Roncalli finishes their campaign at 2-23 while Valders improves to 15-10 on the year.
Up next for the Vikings will be a trip up to Kewaunee on Friday to take on the 3-seeded Storm in the second round of the WIAA Division 4 girls hoops playoffs.
