The Pennsylvania man charged with traveling to Oshkosh to sexually assault a child has been sentenced.
20-year-old Zachary Vogt was ordered by U.S. District Court Judge Byron B. Conway to spend 15 years in prison followed by 15 years on extended supervision.
Court documents show that Vogt began speaking with the child online in October of 2024, a conversation that quickly became sexual.
The victim’s parents found out about the conversations and told Vogt to stop. He ignored the warning and traveled to Oshkosh in June of last year to meet the child.
The two engaged in sexual activity, and Vogt recorded it all on his cellphone.
U.S. Attorney Brad Schimel called Vogt “a sick and dangerous individual,” adding, “The only way to keep the community safe from him is to lock him up. The law enforcement community has no higher priority than to protect our kids, and if you harm them, we are coming for you.”
