A Sparta educator is facing allegations that she hit a five-year-old child.
According to the report, special-ed teacher Melanie Hinz struck the child in an October incident at the Southside Early Learning Center.
She pleaded not guilty yesterday to a charge of child abuse – recklessly causing harm.
