Tonight is the final regular-season game for many high school girls’ basketball teams around Wisconsin.
Manitowoc Lutheran looks for its 20th win of the season when they travel to Hilbert to battle the Wolves.
The Lancers have found their groove after a few midseason stumbles and ran their current winning streak to five with a convincing 80-47 triumph at Reedsville Tuesday night.
The 80 points were a season high, with both seniors Marissa Melhorn and Makiah Krause shooting better than 45.5 percent from the floor.
Their calling card has been a defense that allows just a little better than 44 points per game. Senior Lilly Melhorn leads the Lancers in steals and assists, and senior Abby Behnke snares nearly six rebounds per game.
As a team, they grab better than 35 rebounds and record more than 17 steals per contest.
Hilbert comes into the game as a huge underdog, having gone winless in 11 Big East North Division Conference games.
