
As local high school basketball teams continue the push to the postseason, a few local hockey teams start their tournament play tonight.
High School Hockey
The Manitowoc United boys team is slated to travel to Sheboygan to play Sheboygan South Co-op. with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
Meanwhile, in girls’ postseason play, the Valders/ Fond Du Lac co-op hosts Xavier co-op of Appleton at the Blue Line Ice Center in Fond Du Lac. That faceoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Girls High School Basketball
The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers hit the road to battle the Reedsville Panthers in a Big East North Division matchup.
The Lancers haven’t played since defeating Kiel on February 9th while the Panthers look to start a new winning streak after losing at Howards Grove last Thursday night. The tip-off in Reedsville is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Elsewhere, Valders has a tough road test at Northeast Conference champion Denmark, Mishicot looks to clinch a winning regular season record with a victory at Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah, undefeated Oostburg hits the road to play a very good Sheboygan Lutheran team, Sheboygan Falls is at Port Washington, Sheboygan South hosts Cedar Grove/Belgium, Kohler is home for Ozaukee, Plymouth heads to Random Lake, and Hilbert hosts Marion/Tigerton.
A good non-conference game is slated for Winneconne as the Wolves host St. Mary Catholic, Manawa visits Green Bay East, Ashwaubenon entertains D.C. Everest, Marinette travels to Wrightstown, and Luxemburg-Casco ventures to Clintonville to tangle with the Truckers.
Boys High School Basketball
The Leaders of the Big East North visit the leaders of the Big East South as the Reedsville Panthers hit the road to play the Flying Dutchmen of Oostburg in high school boys’ basketball.
The Panthers look to bounce back after suffering just their second loss of the season Friday night at Howards Grove, while the Flying Dutchmen have lost just three times in 21 games this season. Reedsville has slipped a half-game behind St. Mary Catholic in the North Division, while Oostburg has a two-game cushion over Sheboygan Lutheran in the Big East South. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Elsewhere, Manitowoc Lincoln travels to Sheboygan South, while Roncalli looks to hold ground in the EWC as they host the Valders Vikings. Roncalli is 10-1 a game behind league-leading Brillion, while the Vikings look to win their third consecutive game. Coverage on “WOMT 100” and WOMTRadio.com begins at 7:00 p.m.
Two Rivers hosts Chilton as both teams look for a victory to gain momentum towards post-season play. Coverage of the Raiders and Tigers on 980 WCUB and CubRadio.com begins at 7:00 p.m.
Also on the docket, the Brillion Lions look to remain undefeated in EWC play as they host the Kiel Raiders, Kewaunee looks to improve to 21-0 as they host Southern Door, Sheboygan Falls hosts New Holstein, Sheboygan Christian entertains St. Lawrence Seminary, and Denmark travels to Green Bay to play Northeast Wisconsin Christian Home School.
Meanhile, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay hosts West De Pere, Green Bay West is at Fox Valley Lutheran, Green Baty NEW Lutheran hosts Sevastopol, Algoma hosts Oneida Nation, Sturgeon Bay visits Gibraltar, St. Mary Cathoilc has a non-conference road test at Cedar Grove/Belgium, Pulaski entertains Bonduel, Wrightstown heads up to Marinette and Luxemburg Casco is home for the Clintonville Truckers.
