A Milwaukee teenager is admitting to being involved in the killing of a 5-year-old.
Erik Mendoza pleaded guilty yesterday morning just ahead of the start of his trial in circuit court.
Mendoza faced charges of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and endangering safety in the beating of Prince McCree in 2023.
Mendoza was 16 at the time when he and David Pietura beat McCree with a golf club, a bird feeder, and a barbell before leaving his body in a dumpster.
Pietura pleaded guilty to intentional homicide in 2024.
McCree’s death led lawmakers to make changes to Wisconsin’s Amber Alert laws.
