An Appleton high school was the target of a phony bomb threat yesterday (February 16th).
The Appleton Police Department received the threat sometime in the morning, with it specifically mentioning Appleton East High School.
While school was not in session because of Presidents’ Day, there was still a small number of students and staff inside the building at the time.
A safety check was conducted, and it was determined that the threat was not credible.
The Appleton Police Department said of the incident, “We take all threats seriously and respond with an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the community. We appreciate the cooperation of school personnel and those who reported the information. If you see something, say something.”
