A woman camping in Fond du Lac County was killed in a fire over the weekend.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was the first to respond to the Breezy Hill Campground just before 11:00 Sunday morning after receiving calls about a fire.
It was learned that a camper had caught fire, and while a man and three children were able to escape, a woman was still trapped inside.
The blaze was extinguished by responding fire crews, however, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victims were treated for minor injuries.
The fire was said to have originated in the kitchen area of the camper, but the exact cause, along with the woman’s cause of death have yet to be determined.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Eden Fire Department and Fond du Lac Fire Rescue.
