A Manitowoc man has been convicted of numerous charges after an altercation with authorities last year.
Court records show that 51-year-old Mario Mora was found guilty due to no contest pleas on charges of Resisting an Officer Causing Substantial Bodily Harm, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
At Mora’s plea hearing, additional charges he faced, including Battery or Threatening a Law Enforcement Officer, Criminal Damage to Property, and four counts of Bail Jumping, were dismissed but read into the record by Judge Mark Rohrer.
This comes after the 51-year-old originally pleaded not guilty to all charges he faces; however, he and prosecutors were able to reach a plea deal.
Mora was arrested in April of last year after Manitowoc Police were called to the area near South 18th Street and Western Avenue in response to a physical altercation between Mora and his partner.
Once on the scene, Mora became combative with officers in the middle of the street, injuring them in the process.
Eventually, a taser would be used to subdue Mora before he was brought into custody.
He will now return to court on April 10th for his sentencing hearing in Branch 1.
